About VGA
As a coach, guiding individuals through setting and achieving goals involves a structured approach often summarized as Vision, Goals, and Actions (VGA). Here’s how you might articulate this process:
Vision:
The vision sets the overarching direction and purpose. It answers the question, “Where do you want to be?” Encourage your client to envision their ideal future state, considering their values, passions, and aspirations. It should be inspiring and clear, providing a mental image of success.
Goals:
Goals break down the vision into specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound objectives (SMART goals). They outline the milestones that need to be achieved to realize the vision. Encourage clients to set both short-term and long-term goals that align with their vision, ensuring they are realistic yet challenging enough to motivate progress.
Actions:
Actions are the steps or strategies needed to achieve each goal. They define the practical activities, habits, and changes required to move forward. Encourage clients to prioritize actions, break them into manageable tasks, and set deadlines for completion. Regular review and adjustment of actions are crucial to staying on track.
